Jesuit led by 13 points with 1:44 left in the third quarter and seemed poised to pull off a major upset against Richardson, but the State's No. 5 ranked team clawed their way back before hitting a buzzer-beating three pointer to defeat the Rangers, 80-77, on Saturday afternoon at Richardson H.S.

Gavin Perryman scored a career-high 34 points for the second time this season, shooting 12-of-22 from the floor and hitting 10 three-pointers to lead the team in scoring. Senior
Conor Moore secured another double-double, scoring 14 points and securing 10 rebounds. Junior
Ben Johnson scored 14 points, added three rebounds and picked up three assists. Perryman tacked on a team-leading seven assists while senior
Cal Linn tacked on eight points to the Jesuit effort with five rebounds and two assists. Five points from junior

Jesuit closed the game shooting 50.8 percent from the floor and 53.1 percent from three-point range. Securing 30 rebounds compared to 29 by Richardson, Jesuit scored 24 points in the paint and 15 points off of 11 Eagle turnovers. Johnson hit a runner in the lane at the second quarter buzzer to give Jesuit a 40-38 lead at halftime before the Blue and Gold outscored Richardson, 25-18, in the third. Jesuit shot 5-of-7 from three-point range in the third, as Perryman's 14-point quarter propelled the Rangers to a 65-56 lead going into the fourth.

Richardson battled back, leading to a wild final seconds with the Eagles leading by two and inbounding the ball under their own basket. A Jesuit triple team forced a turnover, which allowed Moore to score a layup with seven seconds left to tie the game. Richardson's Cason Wallace, a five-star recruit viewed as one of the top junior prospects in the State, hit a near half-court shot to end the game and keep Richardson unbeaten in district play.

Jesuit's Tuesday matchup against Berkner has been postponed to a later day, and as a result the Rangers will return to action next Friday as Jesuit will welcome Irving H.S. to Walsh Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. as Jesuit looks to pick up its fourth district win as the Rangers are set to wrap the first circuit of league play.
