Jesuit Dallas is headed to the third-place game of the 40th Annual Jesuit-Meintser Dallas Soccer Invitational following a 1-0 win over Nolan Catholic on Thursday and a 2-1 loss to North Mesquite in penalty kicks on Friday. The Rangers will face off against Bryan Adams at 12 p.m. at Postell Stadium in their final action of the season-opening tournament.

Senior
Jason Davis scored the lone goal of the Rangers' win over Nolan Catholic, launching a long ball from 20 yards out that landed in the upper right corner for Jesuit's first goal of the 2021 season. Sophomore goalkeeper
Cole Hines picked up the second win of his career and his first career shutout in the win, recording two saves. The Rangers outshot the Vikings, 10-3, and earned six corner kicks while the Jesuit defense did not yield a corner kick to Nolan during the contest.

Junior
Arnold Perez-Valenzuela scored for Jesuit against North Mesquite, rocketing home a free kick attempt that was placed perfectly in the upper right 90 for his first tally of the 2021 season. Hines picked up a save in the first half before sophomore
Christian Rodriguez took over in the second, making five saves against a determined Stallions offense. North Mesquite pushed the pace for much of the second half and were able to cash in on a final desperation chance with seven seconds remaining in regulation.
Â
A North Mesquite long throw in landed inside the box, where a crowd of Rangers and Stallions fought for possession before a header by North Mesquite's Johnathan Dominguez snuck over the goal line to send the game into penalty kicks. Hines returned to the goal for penalties, making saves on the first two attempts by the Stallions. Senior
Grant Koshakji converted a penalty attempt that was answered by North Mesquite, a feat that was replicated the following round as senior
Alec Gomez rifled one past North Mesquite goalkeeper Lorenzo Dominguez. However, Jesuit missed its fifth penalty attempt and a made goal by Jonathan Zuniga sent North Mesquite into the championship game against Plano H.S.

The Rangers will take on Bryan Adams, a team that beat Skyline, 3-2, in the opening round before falling to a red hot Plano squad, 5-0, on Friday. The Wildcats, who battle North Mesquite in the final at 4 p.m., have scored 12 goals in the first two games of the tournament. Saturday's tournament schedule also includes a showdown between Bishop Lynch and Nolan Catholic in the seventh-place game at 10 a.m. and a consolation final between Rowlett and Skyline at 2 p.m.
