Jesuit Dallas held Mesquite to a 25 percent clip from the field in the second half, and moved to 2-0 on the year with a 62-43 win over the Skeeters on Tuesday at Mesquite H.S. The Rangers saw three players reach double-digits as Jesuit shot above 50 percent from the field for the second consecutive game.
Senior Samuel Dunkerley made his first four shots from the field, including a trio of three-pointers, en route to scoring a team-high 14 points. Senior
Ben Johnson scored 13 points, shooting 4-of-7 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, while senior
Sky Tschurr added 11 points, including a 3-for-6 clip from behind the arc. Junior
Ryan McCormick led Jesuit in rebounding, securing eight boards and a block. Jesuit Dallas shot 57.9 percent (22-of-38) from the floor, 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from three-point range, out-rebounded Mesquite, 30-19 and scored 21 points off of 13 Skeeter turnovers.
Jesuit Dallas will make its home debut on Saturday, when the Rangers host Prosper at Walsh Gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
