Ryan McCormick recorded his second straight double-double, but the Rangers suffered their first loss of the season, 64-60, in overtime against Mesquite Horn on Tuesday at Walsh Gym. The Rangers will head into the 58th Annual Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Dallas Classic with a 3-1 record despite a decisive advantage in the paint and a strong game from Jesuit's starting five.
McCormick scored 16 points and secured 15 rebounds, and currently leads the team with 14.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Junior
Dylan Gibbons' was the Rangers' other double-digit scorer, picking up 12 points while tacking on four assists and a block. Seniors

Grant Kostos scored eight points apiece, with Kostos adding seven rebounds. Senior

Tai Kryger hit a big-time three pointer for Jesuit in the second half, finishing the game with four points and six rebounds.
Jesuit shot 41.1 percent from the floor and out-rebounded Mesquite Horn, 38-28. The Rangers secured 36 points in the paint and picked up 17 points off of 13 Mesquite Horn turnovers.Â
The Rangers will host the 58th Annual Knights of Columbus Bob Stras Dallas Classic, which is set to start on Thursday at Walsh Gym. The eight-team tournament field features Amarillo Tascosa, Dallas Lincoln, Frisco Lone Star, Hillcrest, Highland Park, Mesquite and Jesuit's first round opponent, Fort Worth South Hills. The Rangers and Scorpions will square off to conclude the first day of the tournament at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2.
