Ben Johnson scored a career-high 22 points, and the Rangers were able to hold off a late push by J.J. Pearce to secure a 67-59 win over the Mustangs in their District 7-6A opener on Tuesday in Richardson. The Rangers head into the holiday break with a 7-5 overall record following the victory, which is also the third win in the last four games against the Mustangs.

Sky Tschurr scored 10 points and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line to help Jesuit's 13-of-18 team clip from the charity stripe. Senior

Tai Kryger tacked on seven points and junior Dylan Bissons led the team with three assists, matching McCormick for the team lead in steals with two apiece.
Jesuit scored 10 points off of 10 Pearce turnovers, and held the Mustangs to 5-of-17 shooting in the second quarter, opening the door for a 15-6 Jesuit run that closed the first half with the Rangers holding onto a 41-27 lead. The Rangers out-rebounded the Mustangs, 32-25, and shot 50 percent (22-of-44) from the field.
The Rangers will next compete in the Allen In-and-Out Burger Holiday Classic, which will take place from Dec. 27-29 at Allen H.S. Jesuit's first game will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 as the Rangers battle Wylie.
