The Jesuit Dallas Rangers closed out their first tournament of the year with a 5-1 record, rebounding from a setback against Nolan Catholic with a 10-2 win over Aledo in the final game of a busy weekend that saw Jesuit hold five out of six teams to two runs or less while scoring at least five runs in all five wins.

Senior
Connor Chavez led the way against Aledo, going 2-for-5 from the plate with a home run and three RBI. Chavez became the first Ranger to hit a home run this season, launching a two-run shot to left center in the fourth inning. Junior
Myles Tucker earned two walks and scored two runs while senior
Drew Messick picked up a pair of RBI on the day. Senior
Nick Lazzara recorded a double and drive in a run as senior
Jordan Lawlar also had a two-hit day. On the mound, senior
Tucker Huhn locked down the Aledo offense, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six for his first win of the season.

The Rangers opened the scoring in the first on run-scoring hits by Chavez and Lazzara. Messick picked up an RBI in the third on a single center that scored junior
Tommy Delaney before junior
David Long reached base on an outfield error that also allowed Messick to score.

Chavez increased the lead to six with his first home run of the year in the top of the fourth, and Jesuit was able to score four runs on three outfield errors by Aledo as junior
Cash Riley, seniors
Matthew Gonzalez, Zachary Freeman and Tucker were able to reach home plate off of Bearcat miscues.

After three consecutive days of long road trips, Jesuit will return to Wright Field to serve as a host for the McKinney Boyd Classic next week. Jesuit will play six games at home, beginning with a matchup against Denison at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
