Seniors Spence Giilker and
Ryan Shea found the back the net two times apiece, helping Jesuit Dallas extend its unbeaten streak to 11 games with a 4-2 win over MacArthur on Friday at Postell Stadium. With the win, the Rangers enter the final three weeks of the season with an undefeated, 8-0-1 mark in district play.
Gilker scored the Rangers' first two goals, both of which were assisted by senior
Cullen Scott, in the 11th and 38th minute. Gilker, who has 11 goals on the year, has notched five tallies over the last two games and recorded his fourth multi-goal game of the season on Friday. Shea took over in the second half, scoring in the 46th and 60th minute for Jesuit's third and fourth goals of the game. Shea has scored in six consecutive games dating back to Jesuit's first matchup against MacArthur on Feb. 2, and currently leads the team with 14 goals on the year.
The goalkeeping tandem of sophomores
Cole Hines and
Christian Rodriguez combined to contain the Cardinals, as Hines recorded a pair of first half saves before Rodriguez kept MacArthur at bay down the stretch of the contest. Jesuit's defense was able to shake off an early goal by the Cardinals, withstanding seven shots and a pair of corner kick attempts.
Jesuit will return to the field on Monday, Mar. 1 to face off against Richardson. The Rangers will head to Eagle-Mustang Stadium for the 6 p.m. kickoff, hoping to defeat the Eagles in the first of two matchups between the teams this season.
