A thunderous comeback win against Richardson provided a definitive exclamation mark to conclude the regular season for Jesuit Dallas, as the Rangers scored three unanswered goals in the second half to defeat the Eagles, 3-2. The victory closed a 1-1-1 week for the Rangers as Jesuit opened the final week of the regular season with a 3-1 loss to Pearce before rebounding with a 1-1 tie against Irving H.S. Jesuit will head into the playoffs as the No. 2 seed out of District 7-6A, with the time, date and opponent of the team's UIL Bi-District Round matchup yet to be determined.
Â
Senior
Cullen Scott scored the go-ahead goal with 3:18 left in regulation to complete the comeback as Jesuit flipped the script on a Richardson team that utilized its close defensive presence and heads-up counter play to score one goal late in the first and a second soon after halftime. Senior
Kyle Visintainer started the comeback in the 57th minute, launching a pass from fellow senior Henry Gilker into the upper right 90 to reignite the Jesuit bench.
Â
Junior
Andrew Reutinger put a cross inside the box in the 68th minute, finding the waiting foot of senior
Santiago Day for the equalizer, setting the stage for the late surge and go-ahead tally. Senior
Ryan Shea assisted on the Scott goal, beating a Richardson defender and finding open turf just outside the 18-yard box for a perfectly placed ball to Scott.
Â
Sophomore goalkeeper
Christian Rodriguez made four saves in goal to help keep the Eagles at bay. Rodriguez's saves included a first half stop on a penalty kick, a save that paid dividends later in the contest.
Â
Shea scored Jesuit's lone goal against Pearce, as Scott added a goal in the tie against Irving. Jesuit recorded 10 shots against the Tigers and secured seven corner kicks but were unable to get the go-ahead goal past the Irving defense for what could have been a critical three points in the district standings. Sophomore
Cole Hines made six saves in the tie, including four saves in the first half to halt an early surge by Irving that resulted in the first goal of the game.

Jesuit will now return into the postseason for the first time since 2018, where the team will match up against District 8-6A, a lineup that features schools from Arlington and Grand Prairie ISD. The date, opponent and location for the Rangers' first playoff game will be announced in the coming days.
