Jordan Lawlar racked up another five RBI, bringing his weekly total up to eight, to lead the Jesuit Dallas Rangers to a wire-to-wire, 15-6 win over Pearce on Thursday in Richardson, Texas. Jesuit swept the season series from the Mustangs with a definitive showing, taking a 4-0 lead in the first and never looking back to earn a 2-0 start in district play.
Lawlar's five-RBI night was punctuated by a three-run home run to center in the sixth inning that pushed Jesuit's lead to eight runs, and Lawlar picked up his second run-scoring hit of the game in the top of the seventh with a two run shot through the left side. Senior
Nick Lazzara hit his first home run of the season in the third, finishing the game with two RBI. Senior
Drew Messick got the Rangers started with a two-run line drive in the top of the first that scored two of the Rangers' four runs in the inning.
The Rangers once again showed patience and great plate awareness, drawing 13 walks and earning bases on six hit batsmen. Junior

With the Mustangs in the rear view mirror, the Rangers will turn their attention to Lake Highlands. The two-game series between Jesuit and the Wildcats will start on Saturday, Mar. 20, when the Rangers travel to Lake Highlands H.S. for a 2:30 p.m. matinee. The series will conclude at Wright Field on Tue., Mar. 23 at 7 p.m.
