Jesuit Dallas closed out a wildly successful week with back-to-back shutouts, blanking district rival MacArthur with an 11-0, five-inning run rule win on Friday before the senior pitching tandem of
Gavin Perryman,
David Day and
JJ Luna threw a combined no-hitter in a 7-0 win over Waco Midway on Saturday.
Â
Perryman opened the no-hitter with two innings, striking one and walking one. Day picked up the ball in the bottom of the third, striking out a pair of hitters and keeping the Panthers off of the base paths until the bottom of the seventh, when two walks and a hit batsman loaded the bases. Luna entered the game, inheriting the bases-loaded, no-out situation, proceeded to strike out back-to-back hitters and clinched the team's first no-hitter of the season with a groundout to end the game.
