Seniors Vault Jesuit Dallas to Home Win Over Berkner

The Jesuit Dallas senior class combined for seven touchdowns and three turnovers as the Rangers dispatched Berkner, 58-31, on senior night at Ranger Stadium. Jesuit improved to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in District 7-6A with the victory.

Senior Jake Musso caught 12 passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns, a total that surpasses Jesuit's previous UIL record of 276, recorded in 2011 when Jesuit Dallas played Coppell. Senior Charlie Schmidt added 384 yards and five touchdowns on 24-of-29 passing, tacking on a pair of rushing touchdowns. With his performance, Schmidt becomes only the second quarterback since 2013 to complete five touchdown passes in a single game, joining Bo Schneider '15, who accomplished the feat four times.

Schmidt finished Friday's game with 75 yards on 11 carries, as senior Will Greenwood scored his third touchdown of the season late in the fourth quarter. Senior Matty Wagner added a touchdown reception of his own on an 18-yard catch in the first.

Defensively, seniors Roark Holman and Luke Buckner each snagged interceptions, while senior Oneal Murray forced a fourth quarter fumble that was recovered by senior Bo Jouette. Senior Blake Miller racked up a team-high 11 tackles, followed by seven tackles and an assisted tackle for loss by junior Grayson Wombacher. Sophomore Cade Gill recorded two stops and 1.5 tackles for loss. Sophomore Noah McGough converted a 40-yard field goal for Jesuit's final points of the game.

The Rangers will face a short week as Jesuit will next head to Irving to take on Nimitz on Thursday, Oct. 20. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. from Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium in Irving.
