Kyle Hogan struck first with an electric first-period goal in a physical matchup against Frisco West on Thursday at Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. Hogan's goal would be matched by Frisco West's impressive effort on offense and defense resulting in their 7-1 victory.
Although Frisco West's stout defense held the Rangers to only 27 shots total, the Jesuit squad capitalized on two second-period penalties with 13 shots in the period. Senior Jayson Hess left it all on the ice, notching 31 saves and shutting out the opposing team in the final period. Senior
Ryan Virkar assisted Hogan for the Rangers lone goal of the night.
The Rangers will look to avenge this tough loss in their next matchup against the Southlake Carroll Dragons, the top team in the Varsity Silver division. Puck drop will be at 7:45 p.m. on January 3rd at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
