School records fell in Austin, Texas, as the Jesuit Dallas swimming & diving team wrapped the 2021-22 season with a strong showing at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A State Championship meet on Friday and Saturday at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swimming Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

William Savarese set a new school record with a 3:07.69 in the finals, placing second in the consolation final and closing out the meet 10th overall. The Rangers qualified 11th overall in prelims with a 3:09.27 before their record-setting swim on Saturday.

William Savarese broke the 500 free record twice during the weekend, setting a new mark in both prelims and finals. Savarese, who has broken the 500 free record on four occasions this season, toppled the 4:29.85 record set at last weekend's Region II-6A Championship with a 4:28.41 in prelims before swimming a 4:27.93 in finals. Savarese has dropped nearly four seconds off the team's 500 free record at the beginning of the season
Savarese added a fourth-place finish in the consolation final of the 200 I.M., placing 12th overall with a season-best 1:50.86 in the championship heat following a 1:51.09 in prelims. Savarese joined Hung, Pelaez and
James Savarese in the 200 free relay, where Jesuit would place 12th overall and fourth in the championship final with a 1:26.06 total relay time.
