Jesuit Sweeps Allen & Lovejoy In The Pool

ALLEN, Texas - The Jesuit swimming and diving team picked up two decisive victories at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium on Tuesday. The Rangers defeated Allen 117-69 and Lovejoy 147-38 in a double dual at Allen.

Jesuit won all three relays and all but one individual race and finished 2-3-4 in the one its didn't win. The divers swept the podium in the 1-meter springboard as well.

Double winners for the rangers included junior Jonah Ruhl (200 IM, 100 back) and senior Sam Kennington (50 free, 100 free). Other notable performances were senior Luke Lary's 100 fly victory & runner-up in the 50 free plus junior Grant Wilton's 100 breaststroke win and third place in the 50 free.

Junior Drew Shippey used a fast final 25 to overtake an Allen swimmer to finish second in the 200 individual medley and took second place in the 100 butterfly. Senior Sebastian Suwanda set the tone individually with a wire-to-wire win in the 200 free to start the meet. He also finished a solid second in the 500 free event as well.

The four divers all performed well, with Koby Broad scoring a 147.15, followed by Kobus Brewton with a 131.78, Wills Blosser with a 113.70 and Koen Mathys taking fifth with 90 points.

Jesuit will be back at home for its next three meets, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 28 against Coppell. Diving will begin at 4:15 p.m. and swimming at 5:30 p.m.
