Rangers Fall to Crusaders on Cold Afternoon at Postell Stadium

2/27/2022 8:26:00 AM

A breakaway run by senior Olayinka Lamikanra and a fight in the trenches by senior Charlie Borowczak provided Jesuit Dallas with a pair of first half tries, but Strake Jesuit scored 19 unanswered points and blanked the Rangers in the second half en route to a 19-14 win on Saturday at Postell Stadium. The lingering effects of the week's winter weather brought light rainfall and cold temperatures during the contest, as the two teams battled in an immensely physical contest.

Lamikanra secured his third try of the season on a near 80-yard run while Jesuit was a man-up, breaking through tackles before finding room to run on the far sideline and racing his way into the goal area. Borowczak's try came late in the first half, as the senior powered his way through the Crusaders, inching past the goal line for his first try of the season.

Junior Jordan Mason converted on both of Jesuit's tries, a key component heading into the second half as Strake's kicker missed the conversion attempt following a late first half try, giving Jesuit a two-point lead at the break.

The Rangers will look to rebound on March 5, when the Blue and Gold travels to Round Rock. Jesuit will return to Postell Stadium on Thursday, March 4 to face St. Pius X.
