Jesuit Dallas split its first two days at the 2022 USA Hockey National Tournament, upending Walter Johnson (Md.), 8-1, on Friday following a 9-1 setback to Shattuck-St. Mary's (Minn.) on Thursday. The Rangers will head into their third game of pool play against Edwardsville (Mo.) with an opportunity to reach the knockout stage with a regulation win or via goal differential.

Kyle Hogan and freshman Konstantin Deshevvy scored two goals apiece against Walter Johnson as the Rangers scored eight unanswered goals to open the game. Additional Jesuit goals were scored by
Jack Bowdich,
William Sahadevan and
Ryan Virkar, as
Jack Sweda picked up a pair of assists.

Rahlfs and Bowdich added an assist apiece while
Travis Hogan and
Chris Sweda each secured an assist of their own. In goal, junior Drew Zang racked up 29 saves, securing a pair of shutout periods while the Rangers took control of the matchup. Rahlfs scored Jesuit's lone goal of the tournament opener on an assist from
Kyle Hogan, while Zang secured 49 saves during an impressive afternoon in goal.
