Reading Scores Game-Winner as Rangers Defeat Torrey Pines (Calif.) in Four Overtimes

Senior Will Reading scored off the face-off in the fourth overtime to send Jesuit Dallas to a 10-9 win over Torrey Pines (Calif.) on Saturday at Jesuit Dallas. The dramatic victory provided Jesuit with its ninth win of the year as the Rangers upended a Falcons' team rife with college-bound talent and ranked sixth in the USA Lacrosse Magazine West Regional rankings.

Senior McAllister Hobbs led the way with three goals on the night, followed by two goals apiece by Reading and Foley. Jesuit's final three goals of the game were scored by senior Nate Duncan, junior Charlie Schmidt and sophomore Greyson Kissock. Foley led the team with four points on Friday, taking on a team-high two assists to go along with his multi-goal game. Reading went 14-of-36 in face-off attempts, including 3-for-4 during overtime. In goal, senior Connor Knight recorded 11 saves and junior Cooper Coleman saved four shots.

Jesuit went 22-for-24 in clear attempts, secured 30 ground balls compared to 20 from Torrey Pines, and was able to eliminate a trio of man-up opportunities for the Falcons. 

The Rangers will next head to Southlake Carroll on Friday, Apr. 8 to battle the Dragons in their final divisional game of the season. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
