Swimming Scores Dominant Win to Start 2022-23 Season

Swimming & diving scored nine event victories and swept through the relay events en route to securing a 120-32 win over Bishop Lynch in the team's season opener on Saturday at the KayCee Pool.

The 200 medley relay team of senior Leonardo Pelaez, junior Jaden Giunta, freshman Luke Lary and freshman Sebastian Suwanda led off the day with a 1:48.56 total relay time in the 200 medley relay, sparking a 1-2-3 finish for Jesuit. The Ranger's second relay team of sophomore Nash Feighny, junior Jake Follett, sophomore Michael Hasenfratz and junior Alexander McSorley clocked a 1:56.33 to place second, followed by a 1:59.41 fromthe relay team of junior Liam Weaver, junior Charlie Fent, freshman Jihaad Houston and senior Adam Chamblee.

Suwanda recorded Jesuit's first individual win of the season with a 1:56.44 in the 200 free, Pelaez tacked on a pair win in the 200 I.M. (2:02.87), and 500 free (4:49.81), and Lary swam a 1:00.32 to win the 100 fly, picking up his second win of the day with a 1:03.23 in the 100 back. Giunta secured Jesuit's final individual event win of the day with a victorious, 1:08.23 in the 100 breast.

Giunta, junior Quinton Moats, Fent and McSorley won the 200 free relay with a 1:41.81 total relay time while Houston, junior Kyle Ma, senior Adair Oropeza and Moats won the 400 free relay with a 3:59.90 total relay time.
