Rangers Strike First in TAHA Tournament With 7-2 Win Over Allen

Six members of the Blue and Gold found the back of the net as Jesuit Dallas began its run for a fifth consecutive Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) Division I Pure State Championship with a 7-2 win over Allen on Jan. 24 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.

Senior William Sahadevan led the way for the Rangers with two goals on the night, scoring a pair of tallies in the third period. Senior Kyle Hogan secured a team-high three points on one goal and two assists, while senior Ryan Virkar added a pair of assists. Additional goals were scored by Jack Bowdich, Danny Myung and Travis Hogan while Wade Bryan and Brandon Peppard added assists. Jayson Hess secured 34 saves, including 10 saves in the first and 18 saves in the second period to help the Rangers flip an early, 1-0 deficit into a dominant, 5-1 advantage at the second intermission.

The Rangers will briefly return to AT&T Metroplex League play on Thursday, Jan. 26 to battle Frisco East. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at the StarCenter in McKinney. Jesuit will resume pool play in the TAHA Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 28 against Strake. Allen and Strake will meet on Friday, Jan. 27.
