The Jesuit Dallas football season concluded on Thursday, as a valiant effort fell just short to Coppell in a 42-23 UIL Region I-6A Division II Area Round loss at The Star in Frisco. The Rangers finish the 2023 season with an 8-4 record, qualified for the postseason for the 12th time during the 13-year tenure of Jesuit Dallas head coach
Brandon Hickman, and secured the 11th UIL Bi-District Championship in program history.

Junior quarterback
Charlie Peters completed 23-of-38 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns, completing touchdown passes to junior
Jaeger Krauss and
Zane Williams. Senior
Quentin Williams would secure a team-leading 108 reception yards on seven catches, while
Zane Williams added a rushing touchdown for the Blue and Gold. Junior
Jack Yeskie closed out the contest with 70 yards on five catches. Junior kicker
Noah McGough converted a 41-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter to open the scoring for the Rangers.

Grayson Wombacher led the team with 12 tackles, followed by 11 tackles from senior
Tristen Bird. Junior
Cooper Smith picked up a solo and assisted sack, senior
Entonyo Jones made a solo sack and junior
Cade Gill wrapped his season with 1.5 tackles for loss and an assisted sack. Jones, Smith and senior
Christopher Simington finished the game tied for the team lead with two tackles for loss apiece.

Jesuit trailed, 21-3 with 14 seconds remaining in the opening quarter and trailed 28-10 at halftime but scored 13 unanswered points in the third to narrow the deficit to five points. Jesuit Dallas and Coppell traded drives throughout the tail end of the third quarter heading into the fourth before Coppell pulled away from the Rangers with two late touchdowns.

The Rangers will await the UIL 6A realignment, which will be announced in early February. The 2024 Jesuit Dallas football season will begin in late August.
