DALLAS – Jesuit Dallas alumnus E.J. Smith '20 signed as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs following the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft.
 
Smith was a 3-year varsity letterwinner for the Rangers from 2017-19, earning Under Armour and MaxPreps All-America honors while rushing for 3,077 yards and 60 touchdowns. He also had 1,613 receiving yards and 19 scores. He was the District Offensive Player of the Year in 2019 while leading Jesuit to the UIL 1-6A Division 2 Regional Final.
 
After graduation, he spent four seasons at Stanford and the last two at Texas A&M as a graduate student. He finished his college career with 969 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
