Jesuit Dallas won 11 of 12 events, racing to a dominant sweep of Greenhill and Parish Episcopal on Tuesday, November 28 at The Gull. The Rangers secured a 138-45 win over Greenhill and upended Parish Episcopal, 163-15.
Senior
William Savarese won two individual events and aided in two victorious relays, starting with a 1:51.81 in the 200 I.M. Savarese would tack on a 57.86 to win the 100 breast. In the 200 medley relay, Savarese joined
Jonah Ruhl,
Luke Lary and
Sam Kennington for a winning total relay time of 1:40.64 before clocking a 3:21.55 total relay time in the 400 free relay alongside Lary,
Sebastian Suwanda and
Flyn Hughes.
Lary earned the victory in the 100 free with a 50.20, Kennington captured the 50 free win in 22.59 and Hughes secured a win in the 100 fly with a 55.34. JP McCosker won the 500 free in 5:28.69, followed by a 5:30.62 from
Michael Tobin, who would also secure a victory of his own with a 2:02.35 in the 200 free.
Trey Smith won the diving event to lead off the meet with a season-high 166.55. The quartet of Kennington, Teddy Scherer, Lary and Ruhl won the 200 free relay in 1:32.64, and were followed in second place by the relay team of
Jaden Giunta, Hughes,
Alexander McSorley and Jack Schwetz, who clocked a 1:38.17.
The Rangers will break for the holiday season and return to action in 2024. Jesuit's first weekend of competition in the new year will feature a set of back-to-back dual matches at Highland Park H.S. The Rangers will battle district rival JJ Pearce on Friday, January 5 before taking on the Scots on Saturday, January 6.
