The Rangers raced out to a 5-2 halftime lead, and were able to withstand a rally by Keller en route to securing a 10-6 win on Saturday at Vista Ridge Middle School. Jesuit will take a 2-0 record into its home opener next Saturday as the Rangers are set to play The Woodlands at Ranger Stadium.
Senior
Charlie Schmidt led the way for the Rangers with four goals on the afternoon, with two goals scored by
Mercer Fernandes and additional tallies recorded by
Ty Robertson,
Zach Fawcett,
Greyson Kissock and
Wil Fagan.
Mercer Fernandes added a team-high four assists to close out the contest with a team-leading six points while additional assists were recorded by Fawcett and senior
Cameron Martin.
Junior
Cooper Tilden won six face-offs and picked up a team-high four ground balls, Martin added three ground balls and senior
Billy Robertson caused a turnovers and secured three ground balls of his own. Senior
Max Fernandes led the team with two caused turnovers while senior goalkeeper
Cooper Coleman earned his second win of the year with a seven-save performance.
Jesuit will compete at Ranger Stadium on Saturday for the first of nine scheduled home games this year as the Blue and Gold welcome the Highlanders. Face-off is set for 2 p.m.
