Jesuit Dallas led Lake Travis wire-to-wire on Saturday, taking a 6-1 lead at the end of the first period en route to securing a 13-2 win over the Cavaliers on Saturday in Austin, Texas. The Rangers continue an impressive streak with their 17th consecutive season-opening victory and begin a two-game road trip to start the year in resounding fashion.
Seniors
Cameron Martin and
Charlie Schmidt scored three goals apiece to lead the team, while seniors
Zach Fawcett and
Donald Lambrecht each added two goals to the Jesuit total. Additional tallies were secured by senior
Mercer Fernandes, junior
Cooper Tilden and junior
Ty Robertson. Martin would close out the contest leading the team in overall scoring, racking up four assists to go along with his goal total for seven points in the season opener.
Mercer Fernandes added two assists while
Zach Fawcett and
Greyson Kissock picked up one assist apiece.
In goal, senior
Cooper Coleman secured seven saves and two ground balls in his season debut. Tilden led the team with five ground balls,
Billy Robertson added three ground balls while
Aidan Raymond caused three turnovers.
Luke Freeman secured two caused turnovers while martin picked up four ground balls to aid the Rangers' effort.
Jesuit will continue the early portion of its 2023 season on Saturday, Feb. 11, when the Rangers travel to Keller. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Vista Ridge Middle School.
