Three members of the Jesuit Dallas water polo team were named to the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (TISCA) All-Region I-6A team, announced by the organization on Monday, Nov. 18. Sophomore
Charlie Gall was named to the all-region first team as junior goalkeeper
Cayden Bartusek and sophomore
Sebastian Lazar earned spots on the all-region honorable mention listing.
Â
Gall was named the District 2-6A Most Valuable Player earlier this season, helping anchor a 17-13 season for the Rangers that culminated in the program's second UIL playoff victory. The sophomore exploded for 106 points this season on 69 goals and 37 assists, finishing second for the Rangers in both categories. Tying for the team lead with 25 steals, Gall shot 47.9 percent during the 2024 campaign, following up his District MVP season with his second all-region award.
Â
Lazar led the team in points (111), goals (72) and assists (39) en route to securing District Newcomer of the Year honors. Lazar tied Gall for the team lead with 25 steals, averaged 3.7 points per game, and dominated his first full season on the varsity roster, shooting a 51.1 percent clip. Lazar finished his sophomore season with his first career all-region accolade.
Â
Following up an all-district first team selection with his first career all-region honor, Bartusek switched from the field to goal midway through the 2024 season and proved to be a major catalyst for the Rangers down the homestretch. As the team's starting goalkeeper, Bartusek racked up a 13-3 record and made 138 saves, averaging 6.3 saves per game while only allowing 9.8 goals per game.Â
