Jesuit Dallas peppered the top of the leaderboard to open the 2024-25 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) season, finishing second at the Trap Season Opener. The Rangers were anchored by three top-10 finishers to spark another promising season on the range.

During the 100-target trap event, sophomore
Gavin Dourty led the way for the Rangers, finishing first overall in the senior/varsity division by hitting 98 of 100 targets. Sophomore
Paul Thompson finished second with 96 converted targets as senior
Winn Moore busted 93 of 100 clays to finish in eighth place. Jesuit brought a team of 16 shooters to the event, as the Ranger leaderboard was completed with the following performances:

Jesuit combined for a 464 high overall athlete (H.O.A.) team score, finishing 17 clays behind first place Allen, who saw an athlete bust all 100 clays in the junior varsity division. The Rangers dominated the rest of the field, finishing 36 clays ahead of Highland Park and 53 ahead of Legacy Christian Academy.

The Rangers' SCTP contingent will return to action on December 14 as the Rangers travel to Waco Gun Club for a 200-clay competition. The team will compete in two separate shoots, the first being a round of 100 skeet before the day concludes with 100 sporting clays.
