Jesuit Dallas golf competed at the Mike Brent Invitational • State Tournament Preview over the weekend, finishing the two-day tournament against the top teams in the state finished tied for eighth. A stellar second round propelled the Rangers up the leaderboard as Jesuit combined for the second-lowest team score on the final day of tournament play.
Junior
Reese Roberts turned in the lowest score for the Rangers, capping his tournament with a one-under par 71 in round two to post a 149 total score. Following close behind was sophomore
Jack Clancy, who carded a 151 (78-53), followed by a 152 from senior
Max Chan (78-74), 153 from junior
Connor Chisum (76-77) and a 160 from junior
Nicholas Norris (79-81).
The Rangers tied Lake Travis with a 604 total team scoring, finishing four strokes above ninth place UIL Region III member Houston Stratford (608) and 10 strokes ahead of Region IV's San Antonio Johnson (614). Jesuit finished second among representatives from Region I-6A, besting regional powerhouses such as Coppell (619), Southlake Carroll (622) and Hebron (641).
Jesuit will return to action on Friday, March 1 as the Rangers head to Cedar Hill for the Region I-6A Preview. The two-day tournament will take place at Tangle Ridge Golf Course, and serve as a prelude to the Jesuit Dallas Invitational Tournament, set for Monday, March 4 at Brookhaven Country Club.
