GARLAND, Texas – Jesuit sophomore
Jackson Straley made four birdies on his way to a final round 72, which was enough to push him into first place to claim the individual medalist award at the 2026 UIL District 7-6A Boys Golf Championship at Firewheel Golf Club on Thursday.
Even with a 34 on the front nine, Straley was still trailing first round leader Stone Fancher of JJ Pearce by three shots. He trailed by two with four holes remaining when he finished with four-consecutive pars while Fancher bogeyed 15, 16, and 17. Straley's winning score was a 73-72=145.

Alex Murray also played strong golf on Thursday, moving into a tie for second overall with Fancher at 2-over-par 146.
Jesuit finished the day with eight First Team All-District recipients based on their top-10 finish in the tourney. The other Ranger honorees included freshman

Spencer Carter, sophomore
George Weeldreyer, sophomore
Dexter Zimmerman and senior
Andrew Dominguez.
As a team, Jesuit's A and B teams finished first and second, respectively and will both advance to the Region 1-6A Championship, April 13-14 at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The Jesuit A team posted a 295-299=594 for a 9-stroke win over the B team's 301-302=603. This is the 13th district championship for the Rangers.
