Jesuit Dallas ended its 2024 spring break trip with a 13-6 win over Brophy Prep (Ariz.) on Monday in Phoenix, Arizona. The win provides the Rangers with a win over a regionally ranked opponent was the Broncos were ranked No. 10 in the USA Lacrosse West Region rankings heading into the matchup.
Senior Keegan McGarity led the way for the Rangers with three goals on the evening, followed by two goals from senior Sam Emery. Several Rangers found the back of the net as additional goals were scored by seniors Beckett Foley, Brody Hobbs, Nick Jahn, Grayson Kissock, Jackson Raymond, and junior Declan McGarity alongside the sophomore pairing of Cayden Bartusek and Marshall Sorokwasz. Hobbs and senior Ty Robertson picked up assists for the Rangers while senior Henry Hambleton caused a team-high two turnovers.
In goal, sophomore goalie Gabriel James made seven saves, and junior Caleb Caldwell secured face-off wins in 13-of-19 attempts, adding a team-high 10 ground balls. The Rangers began the contest with a 5-3 advantage in the fourth quarter, a lead that blossomed to a 7-4 advantage at halftime after second quarter goals from Kissock and Hobbs. The Rangers outscored the Broncos, 5-2 in the third quarter to take a six-goal lead, shutting out Brophy in the final quarter to clinch the win.
The Rangers finished the spring break trip splitting their two matchups, rebounding from a 7-4 setback to Loyola with the win over the Broncos. Jesuit will return to Texas for its next game on Friday, March 22 against Coppell. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
