Game Recap: Hockey - Varsity Gold |

Hockey Falls to McKinney, 3-2

Jesuit dropped a 3-2 decision to McKinney on Wednesday at the Children's Health StarCenter in McKinney. Despite the loss, the Rangers have their spot in the upcoming AT&T Metroplex Hockey League playoffs solidified heading into the final two games of the regular season.

Goals were scored by sophomore Rhys Garrick, who lit the lamp in the first period off of assists by seniors Brandon Peppard and Everett Sahadevan, and junior Rex Garrick, who found the back of the net off of a feed by seniors Travis Hogan and Danny Myung. The Rangers went 1-for-3 on the power play and were able to kill four of McKinney's five man-up chances. Sophomore goalie Kirin Zeikus made 24 saves in goal for the Rangers.

Jesuit will take a brief respite from league play and travel out-of-state for the first time this season over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. The Rangers will travel to Littleton, Colorado for the 2025 Varsity Cup, a tournament hosted by Regis Jesuit (Colo.). Jesuit will compete in three pool play games, beginning with a Saturday matchup against Loyola Academy (Ill.) at 10:30 a.m. MST on Saturday followed by a clash with hosting Regis Jesuit (Colo.) at 4:45 p.m. MST. Pool play will conclude on Sunday at 3 p.m. MST against Gonzaga (D.C.), and the Rangers' Monday game will be determined by pool play standings.
