DALLAS - The Jesuit football team suffered a 52-21 loss to Lake Highlands in a battle of unbeaten district teams at Ranger Stadium on Friday.
Jesuit (2-4, 2-1 7-6A) finished with a season-high 210 passing yards.
Beck Berry was 13-for-26 with a pair of touchdowns. He completed passes to six different receivers and five had at least one 10-plus yard play.
Shane Parker had two catches for 82 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown on a fake double-reverse that pulled Jesuit within 14-7 midway through the first quarter.
Christian Rhodes answered for the Wildcats on the next play from scrimmage, running 63 yards to paydirt and a 21-7 lead.
The Rangers answered on the ensuing possession, chewing up 7:40 of time on a 17-play, 83-yard drive that saw Berry run it in from a yard out.
Two plays later, however, Chuck Smith found Rhodes for a 52-yard pass that saw Lake Highlands go ahead by two scores, 28-14. Each team scored again before the half as the visitors took a 42-21 lead into the locker room.
LHHSÂ scored 10 points in the third quarter to close out the scoring. Lake Highlands (5-1, 3-0) won its fifth-consecutive game and finished with 455 yards of total offense. Smith threw for 257 yards on 18-of-27 passing with four touchdowns.
Cooper McGough averaged 43.4 yards on three punts and rushed for a first down with a 19-yards scamper on a fake punt as well.
Jesuit will return to action on Thursday when it travels to Irving for a battle with MacArthur (2-4, 1-2. Kickoff at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
