2/28/2025 2:50:00 PM

Jesuit improved to 3-0 on the year, as a four-run first inning set the tone for the Blue and Gold en route to a 10-3 win over Denton Guyer on Monday. The Rangers will take an unbeaten record into their home debut as the Rangers will host the Five Tool Invitational starting on Thursday, February 27.

Juniors Carter Noland and Braxton Barber led the way for the Blue and Gold, both launching home runs to help pace the Jesuit offense. Barber would finish the day 2-for-4 from the plate in the leadoff spot, driving in three runs. Senior E'mar Fleming II would add two runs, going 1-for-3 with a double and two runs scored on Monday. Junior Taylor Haddock would record a double of his own, driving in and scoring a run to aid the Jesuit effort. Noland scored twice for the Rangers as senior Jake Fults would force two walks and score twice against the Wildcats.

Jesuit's pitching contingent shared the load against Guyer as six arms graced the mound for the Blue and Gold. Senior Peyton Brown earned the start and the decision with 1.2 innings pitched before junior Brooks Kowal took over in the second, throwing two innings and recording a strikeout. Senior Wallace Archie struck out a batter before fellow fourth year Sean Cullen fanned a pair of batters. Senior Sam Strong entered the matchup late in the game before freshman Jack Lattanzio shut the door on Guyer with one inning of work that saw the freshman rack up two strikeouts.

The Rangers will make their 2025 home debut on Thursday, March 27 as Jesuit Dallas is set to host the Five Tool Festival. The multi-day tournament will see the Rangers battle six opponents from four states, beginning with a showdown against Magnolia Heights (Miss.) at 2:30 p.m. The Thursday double-header will conclude at 5 p.m. as the Rangers will battle preseason state-ranked No. 10 Dripping Springs.
