Jesuit had eight hits from eight different players as they took the first game in the regional semifinal series at Crutcher Scott Field. The Rangers and Bulldogs will play game two on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with a third game if needed immediately afterwards.
While the offense was getting on base with hits, four walks, a hit batter and benefiting from three MHS errors, senior
James Jorgensen was striking out 11 in 6.2 innings to improve to 8-0 on the season  He took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before allowing three hits.
Cooper Patton came on in relief and got the final out of the game on a ground ball.
The fourth inning saw two fielding errors by the Bulldogs that gave the Rangers more free baserunners, resulting in seven runs - four unearned - on just three hits.
Roman Derichsweiler had a 2-run double that extended the lead to 5-0.
Jones is now 600-151-21 at Jesuit.
Jesuit improved to 29-7-2 on the season while Midland dropped to 32-6.
