Jesuit Dallas Taps Eddie Cornblum as Head Baseball Coach

6/18/2026 6:11:00 PM

DALLAS – Jesuit Dallas Baseball, one of the most historically rich high school programs in Texas, begins a new era in 2026-27 under the leadership of decorated coach and UIL state champion, Eddie Cornblum.

Cornblum, who guided Waco Midway to the 2025 UIL 6A Division I State Championship, replaces long-time Ranger head coach, Brian Jones, who led Jesuit to the 2016 state crown and had successfully built upon Jesuit's historical legacy.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to be part of a great tradition," said Cornblum. 'Men for Others' says everything about the Jesuit Dallas program. I have a deep passion and love for the game, and selflessly building something great together excites me. I could not have asked for a better opportunity, and I can't wait to get going!"

Cornblum served as head coach of the Waco Midway program for 10 seasons, during which he won eight UIL district titles, including a run of five consecutive championships from 2022-26. An eight-time UIL District Coach of the Year, in 2025 he paced the Panthers to a school-record 35 wins and the UIL 6A state title with a 6-2 victory over Atascocita in the finals.

"Coach Cornblum has established himself as one of the premier coaches in Texas high school baseball, and we are excited to welcome him as the next head coach at Jesuit Dallas," expressed Jesuit Dallas Director of Athletics, Kyle Herrema. "Beyond the wins and championships, what stood out most throughout our search was Coach Cornblum's ability to build a strong culture, develop meaningful relationships with student athletes, and communicate effectively with players, parents, and coaches. He is a proven leader who aligns with our mission of forming young men of character, and we are thrilled to have him lead the Ranger baseball program."

During his stint with Waco Midway, Cornblum compiled a 232-89 (.723) overall record and a 107-17 (.863) record in district play. His teams won eight bi-district titles and four UIL Area Championships.

Cornblum began his head coaching career at Belton High School, winning five district championships over a seven-year stretch.

Jesuit's history on the diamond is highlighted by six state titles, including the UIL 6A Championship in 2016 and 10 district championships since 2010. The program has developed five consensus All-Americans, including three Texas Gatorade Players of the Year, while Kyle Muller '16 was the consensus National Player of the Year in 2016. Sixteen players from Jesuit Dallas have signed contracts with Major League Baseball teams since 1997.
