Jesuit Stuns Highland Park in Overtime

An overtime game-winning goal by junior Cayden Bartusek sent Ranger Stadium into a frenzy on Friday night, as Jesuit Dallas secured its biggest and most impactful win of the season with a 7-6 win over Highland Park.
 
Bartusek scored off a feed by junior Wil Fagan with 41 seconds remaining in the first overtime period, completing a comeback that saw Jesuit rally from two goals down with 9:09 remaining in regulation to tie with 1:33 left in the fourth before capturing the overtime victory. Jesuit was anchored by two goals from Andrew Ditchman alongside tallies from Fagan, junior Jack Lynch, junior David Atwell and junior Grayson Gilbert. Fagan and Lynch secured two assists apiece while Atwell added one assist to the team total.
 
In goal, junior Gabriel James made 10 huge saves to help propel the team to overtime, while junior John Gregory added a team-high two caused turnovers. Senior Caleb Caldwell won seven face-off attempts and the pairing of junior Marshall Sorokwasz and senior Arsen Ventura picked up two ground balls apiece.
 
Jesuit will look to harness the momentum from Friday's win as the Rangers battle an out-of-state opponent on Saturday. The Rangers will welcome Skyline (Wash.) to Ranger Stadium for a 2 p.m. face-off.
