Jesuit Dallas Enters Stacked Week of Postseason Action

Jesuit Dallas athletics enters a jam-packed week of action as nine programs will compete in postseason competition, beginning with the volleyball team hosting a Texas Boys' High School Volleyball (TBHSV) Regional Final on Tuesday night. Jesuit's baseball, crew, competitive shooting, cycling, golf, lacrosse, rugby and track & field programs will also compete this upcoming week.
 
Below is a breakdown of what to expect for each sport, including what days they are competing and how to follow the action live.

Volleyball

Jesuit Dallas looks to return to the TBHSV State Final Four on Tuesday with a matchup against the Red River Rattlers. The two teams met recently, tying 1-1 (22-25, 25-19) at the 2025 Premier Tournament in Framers Branch. Jesuit Dallas swept Nolan Catholic to advance to the regional final. With a win, Jesuit will advance to play either the regional champion out of Houston or Austin in a state semifinal scheduled for Friday, May 2 in Rockwall, Texas. The state championship game is set for Saturday, May 3 in Rockwall.

Baseball

Jesuit Dallas finished the regular season as the Co-District 7-6A Champions, securing a 22-7-1 overall record and a 12-2 mark in district play to tie Lake Highlands atop the district standings. The Rangers are looking for their 11th straight bi-district championship and will match up against an Arlington Bowie squad that finished fourth in District 8-6A with a 19-10 record and are entering the postseason for the first time in 12 seasons.

The Rangers head into the postseason following three strong performances on the water in the spring. Most recently, Jesuit competed at the OKC Invitational, held at the same location as this weekend's regional meet, capturing a win in the novice 4+. The Rangers' youth 8+ shells enter the weekend with the podium in sight following high marks at both the Battle of the Brazos and the Heart of Texas Regatta, held in Waco and Austin, respectively.

Following a strong performance last weekend by the pistol/rifle team, Jesuit's shotgun squad will continue its postseason run at the SCTP Regional Championships. The Rangers will be led by senior Winn Moore, who won the SCTP Northeast Buckle as the top individual shooter in the region following Jesuit's third place finish at the Ranger Challenge Cup on April 5. In their postseason debut, Jesuit finished fourth at the DFW League Championships on April 11-13, sparked by a fifth-place finish by sophomore Paul Thompson in the trap event, and fifth and eighth place finishes by Moore in sporting clays and skeet, respectively.

Cycling

The Rangers' cycling team will hit the course for the mountain bike state championships, the team's penultimate event during a busy spring season. Freshman Nicholas Carter has emerged as a key contributor for the team in his debut season, joining seniors Max DeGroote, Andrew Wilkes, sophomore Reid Starnes and fellow first years Bradley Chu and Nate Hurry to completed the Rangers' 2024-25 lineup.

After finishing second at regionals, Jesuit Dallas heads to the state championship meet for the second consecutive season. At regionals, junior Jack Clancy won the individual regional championship by one stroke, helping the team advance. Last year at state, senior Reese Roberts became the first Jesuit Dallas golfer since Jordan Spieth '11 to record a top-three finish, earning the bronze to help the Rangers record their best team finish since 2008, placing sixth overall. Jesuit boasts a talent-laden lineup stacked with college-bound golfers, as seniors Roberts (Missouri), Connor Chisum (Boston College), Nicholas Norris (Arkansas Tech), Clancy and junior Spencer Carter will compete in Georgetown.

Jesuit earned the fifth seed in the THSLL Class AA State Championship Tournament with a 2-1 record in district play that complimented a 10-5 overall record during the regular season. The Rangers will matchup against the Chaps in the state quarterfinal, looking to avenge a 15-9 setback to Westlake on Saturday, February 8. If the Rangers advance, they will face either eighth-seeded Cy Woods or top-seed Highland Park in a THSLL Class AA semifinal on Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. in Austin.

The Rangers' Class B team enters the Class B bracket as the No. 5 seed after finishing second in the THSLL North Division with a 10-1 record. Jesuit will matchup against No. 12 seed Anderson, who finished fourth in the central division with a 5-3 record while securing a 9-7 overall mark. If the Rangers advance to the second round of the Class B South Regional, they will meet either No. 13 seed Ridge Point or No. 6 seed Gateway on Sunday.

Jesuit Dallas will set its sight on a third consecutive varsity cup on Saturday, as the Rangers will battle Strake Jesuit for the third straight year in the Varsity Cup Final. Strake defeated Jesuit Dallas during the regular season, but the Rangers have held their ground against the Crusaders in the varsity cup final during each of the last two seasons, defeating Strake, 27-14 in the 2022 Varsity Cup final before securing another 27-14 win over the Crusaders in the 2023 Varsity Cup Final.

Junior Harlan Beucler looks to cap a history-making 2025 campaign with a spot on the podium in Saturday's UIL 6A Track & Field State Championship meet. Beucler set the program record in the 200 meter dash en route to winning the event at the 2025 Jesuit-Sheaner Relays in March, clocking a record-breaking 20.78 in the prelims before winning finals with a 20.83. Beucler would go on to win the 200 meter dash at the district, regional and area meets to punch his ticket to Austin. Beucler makes his second trip to state this weekend and his first as an individual following a spot on the state-qualifying 4x400 relay team in 2024.
