Hockey Finishes Third In Jesuit Cup

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas - The Jesuit Dallas ice hockey team finished i third place at the Jesuit Cup, which ran from Saturday to Monday at the Children's Health StarCenter.

Jesuit went 1-2 in round robin action, defeating Gonzaga (Washington, DC), 5-2, and losing to Regis Jesuit (Denver), 4-3, and Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.), 5-2. In the third place game against Gonzaga on Monday, the Rangers scored four goals in the opening period on their way to a 5-2 victory.

Allen Zhang and Aike Han each had two goals and three assists to lead the team offensively. Will Hubbell added a pair of goals and two assists as well.

In goal, Bennett Ortegon and Thomas Strand each went 1-1 while splitting time with 90 minutes each.

Loyola Academy went 4-0 to win the Jesuit Cup.

Jesuit is now 19-9 on the 2025-26 season and will return to AT&T Hockey League action on Wednesday night against Allen. The game begins at 7:15 p.m. at the McKinney StarCenter.
