WAXAHACHIE, Texas - The Jesuit Competitive Shooting Shotgun team battled windy conditions to finish in third place at the SCTP League Tournament at the Ellis County Sportsman Club on Saturday.

The varsity squad posted some really strong and consistent skeet scores and the junior.varsity scores were very good as well.

Skeet Results: (Remember that skeet was only 75 targets)
Varsity
Gavin Dourty 3rd place with a 71
Judge Platt 5th place with a 70
Paul Thompson 8th place with a 69
Andrew Christian just missed the top 10 with a score of 63.
Jesuit had 3 athletes in the top 10 scores in Skeet!

Junior. Varsity also had a strong showing, with Owen Woodlief being our top shooter in Skeet. Owen shot a 57 and finished in 11th place. Atticus Burge was the next highest placing Jesuit athlete with a score of 53, followed by Miles Maestri with a score of 51. Great job guys!

Sporting Clays Results. I thought the target presentation was good, challenging and fair. There was a good mix of targets and presentations and most of the errors that I saw were from just lack of experience as we are a very young team. As we gain more experience and see and shoot more targets, the everyone will start making the correct decision on break points, lead and with that our scores will improve. Again, I saw some really great shooting yesterday on the sporting clays range at individual stations. Now we just need to put it all together for the entire event on every station and we will be in good shape.

Joe Thompson was right behind them with a score of 66
Liam McCulloch shot a 65
Tate Armentrout also shot a 65
Atticus Burge shot a 61
