Platt Leads Jesuit Shotgun Team To Eighth Place At SCTP Regionals

WACO, Texas - The Jesuit Competitive Shotgun Shooting Team finished in eighth place out of 29 teams in Sporting Clays in the SCTP Regional Championships at Waco Trap and Skeet.

In Sporting Clays Judge Platt had an outstanding round going on a course that was very difficult. He just missed a podium finish on the last station dropping two targets and shooting a team high score of 84 and finishing 7th overall. Hi score, along with Paul Thompson's 80 and Bunker Hill's 70 helped the Varsity team secure a 8th place overall finish in Sporting Clays.

In the skeet competition, Jesuit finished just outside of the top 10 in 11th place. Thompson shot a 94 with one perfect round of 25 strait. Platt shot a 86 and Hill posted a score of 82.

In Trap our overall team score was hurt by only having four Varsity athletes shoot that combined our four scores against others that had five athletes on a squad. Thompson shot a 92, Platt shot a 90, Hill shot a 78 and Tristan Osler posted a 74. Thompson was the Highest Overall Jesuit athlete finishing 13th overall.

JUNIOR VARSITY
Our JV Team performed very well especially in Trap where they finished with a 4th place overall as a Team. The 5 members of the JV trap squad were: Liam McCulloch 82, Owen Woodlief 80, Nathan Williams 77, Joe Thompson 74 and Adrian Acosta 63.

JV Skeet also posted a top 10 result, finishing in 8th place with the squad of Owen Woodlief 86, Nathan Williams 77, & Liam McCulloch 72.

On a very challenging and extremely difficult sporting clays course our JV squad of Owen Woodlief 71, Nathan Williams 63, & Joe Thompson 60 also finished with a top 10 finish with a 8th place finish in Sporting Clays also. Owen Woodlief was the highest overall Jesuit JV shooter.
