PLANO, Texas - Jesuit Dallas allowed two goals in a span of 30 seconds and fell to Frisco, 2-1, in the Texas Amateur Hockey High School State Championship game at the Children's Health StarCenter on Wednesday night.
Jesuit took a 1-0 lead in the first period when
Maxwell Reynolds scored 8:59 into the contest, getting assists from Luke Hutierrez and
Rex Garrick,
That was the way things stood through the remainder of the second period before Frisco struck back.
Frisco's Franklin Pinkerman tied the game with a goal 2:18 into the final period. Then 30 seconds later on a clearing pass by Wyatt Waldron, the puck caromed off the side board in the Jesuit zone and headed right towards goalie
Bennett Ortegon. The puck found a gap and rolled past Ortegon into the net for the eventual game-winner.
Jesuit had a number of scoring chances in the final seven minutes but all were turned away.
Jesuit took 25 shots compared to 24 for Frisco.
The Rangers end the season with a 23-12 record.
