Bryan's Hat Trick Lifts Jesuit Past Frisco In AT&T Metroplex Hockey Playoff Opener

2/9/2026 11:09:00 PM

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco hockey team scored two goals in the first five minutes before Jesuit Dallas roared back behind a Wade Bryan hat trick to win 5-2, in the opening game of the round robin portion of the AT&T Metroplex Hockey League Playoffs at the Comerica Center Arena Rink.

Bryan's first score came on a power play with 3:44 left in the first period. He then followed it up with goals in the second and tenth minutes of the next period to put the Rangers ahead 3-2. All three goals were unassisted. Rex Garrick then gave Jesuit a bit of a cushion, scoring with 5:18 remaining in the middle frame. Victor Laos put the cherry on top with a power play goal late in the third to allow the Rangers some comfort in the final few minutes.

Bennett Ortegon made 29 saves in 45 minutes between the pipes.

Jesuit will face Prosper on Wednesday night. The game will be at the Plano StarCenter with puck dropping at 7:00 p.m.
