Soccer Falls To Plano West, 2-1, In UIL 6A D2 Regional Final

The Rangers went 20-1-2 this season

MELISSA, Texas - The Jesuit Dallas soccer team fell to Plano West, 2-1, in the regional final of the University Interscholastic League Boys Division 2 Tournament at Kenny Deel Stadium on Tuesday.

Jesuit finished the season with a 20-1-2 record, won District 7-6A with a 12-0-2 mark, made the program's 21st UIL postseason appearance and won the Meintser Tournament.

Jesuit allowed two goals in the opening 17 minutes and was forced to lay catch-up the rest of the night. They tied it in the 33rd minute when Christian Bilger cleaned up a loose ball of a corner kick.

The Rangers nearly tied it with just over 10 minutes to play when a shot by Cooper McGough appeared to cross the line behind West goalkeeper Max Pocsik. But a Wolves defender was able to clear it off the line before the entire ball cross the goal line.

Jesuit held a 12-8 edge in shots and finished with five corner kick opportunities.

Plano West will face The Woodlands College Park in the state semifinals this week.
