PROSPER, Texas — The Jesuit Dallas cross country team opened the 2026 season with a top 15 finish in the Blake Barnes Elite Varsity Boys Race in the Rock Hill XC Opener at Frontier Park on Friday. The rangers finished with 291 points in the Boys Elite Varsity race.

Junior Oscar Gooden led the Blue and Gold, placing 38th overall in 10:34. Sophomore Oliver Craine followed in 66th at 10:48, while seniors Aidan McGuire and Ethan Speer finished back-to-back in 70th and 71st, respectively, with both runners crossing in 10:51.

Junior Jacob Guyette rounded out Jesuit's five scoring runners, finishing 75th in 10:54.

Jesuit posted a 17-second spread from its first to fifth scorer on the 2-mile course which was run on the fields just south of Prosper ISD Stadium.

Carter Witt was Jesuit's sixth finisher at 10:59, followed by Mateo Saenz at 11:09. Corbin Turner finished in 11:12, Sebastian Espinoza in 11:19 and Aidan Grafe in 12:17.

Prosper Walnut Grove won the team competition with 78 points, followed by Rock Hill with 92 and Lucas Lovejoy with 118. Jesuit finished behind Denton, which placed 12th with 278 points.

The Rangers will be back in action in two weeks when they compete in the Luke's Locker 6-Mile Relay on Saturday, August. 29 at Norbuck Park, near White Rock Lake in Dallas.
