Oak Ridge starting pitcher Tyler Davis threw a complete-game shutout, sending the War Hawks to a 3-0, University Interscholastic League (UIL) 6A Region II Semifinal series-opening win over the Jesuit Dallas Rangers on Thursday evening at Reckling Field on the campus of Rice University.

Jacob Palisch threw six innings, striking out 11 batters while allowing three runs, including two earned, on six hits.
Oak Ridge (23-11) scored two runs on four hits in the first inning before the Rangers looked to get on the scoreboard in the second. Jesuit Dallas (32-8-2) had three runners reach base in the inning, but were unable to cross the plate.
Horvath singled to lead off the fifth, but a double play ended the squad's scoring aspirations headed into the sixth. Davis did not allow a hit over the final two innings, finishing the contest striking out seven total Ranger batters en route to the win.Â
Jesuit Dallas will look to force a decisive game three on Friday, set to take on the War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. at Dallas Baptist University.
