The Rangers continued their unbeaten start to the season with a sweep of Allen and Lovejoy on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Don Rodenbaught Nataorium in Allen, Texas. Jesuit defeated Allen, 96-90 and upended the Leopards, 97-83.
Jesuit opened the matchup with a victory in the 200 medley relay, as the team of freshman
James Savarese, sophomore Will McKinney, junior
Ivan Lopez and freshman
Jackson Summers posted a total relay time of 1:45.45. Summers closed out the race with a 23.45 freestyle anchor leg, handing Jesuit a 1.55-second win and the early lead. Savarese would add a 1:56.46 in the 200 free, followed closely by a 1:56.71 from Lopez.
Summers won the 50 free in 24.08, which was followed by a 24.66 from senior
Sean Holden, later tacking on a second-place 1:07.38 in the 100 breast to secure his second top-two finish. McKinney raced to a 5:01.03 first-place finish in the 500 free while sophomore Jack Young scored a 171.55 in the one-meter dive for another individual win for Jesuit.
Freshman
Alexander Hung secured third in the 200 I.M. with a 2:08.60, keeping Jesuit in the lad with a 3-4 finish which included a 2:11.79 from sophomore
Ryan Peckham. Lopez and freshman
Alexander Hung finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 fly. Lopez hit the wall in 57.31, followed by a 58.92 from Hung. Senior
Ryan Brown finished third in the 100 free and the team of Lopez, Savarese, Summers and McKinney finished second in the 400 free relay with a 3:28.72 total relay time.
Jesuit will next compete at the Dallas Cup on Nov. 9 before the North Zone TISCA meet on Nov. 16 and a dual meet against Greenhill on Nov. 28 will close the fall semester.
