The Rangers improved their dominant winning streak against University Interscholastic League (UIL) opponents to 13 meets with a sweep of Plano H.S. and Plano East on Saturday at the KayCee Pool. Jesuit defeated Plano, 128-42 before winning a close decision against Plano East, 96-74.
 
Senior Will McKinney led the way with a 1:57.74 to win the 200 I.M., sparking a 1-2 finish alongside freshman William Savarese while knocking down the team's top time of the season in the process. McKinney would also win the 100 fly, hitting the wall in 54.14, and junior Alexander Hung added another key second-place finish with a 55.53. Freshman William Savarese won the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.74
 
The Rangers recorded several 2-3 finishes to keep distanced from Plano East. Junior Jackson Summers, who won two events in last week's season-opener against Bishop Lynch, finished second in the 100 free and was followed by a 52.14 by senior Kevin Grant.
 
Senior Ryan Peckham added a 4:53.71 to place second in the 500 free, followed by a 4:56.49 by sophomore Palmer Bowman, and added a second-place, 1:48.48 in the 200 free. Bowman added a 57.29 in the 100 back to finish in second place, and Summers swam a 23.34 to place second in the 50 free.
 
Jesuit Dallas opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, as the team of junior James Savarese, William Savarese, McKinney and Summers hit the wall with a 1:43.84 total relay time. The Rangers finished second in the 200 free relay with a 1:34.06 (Hung, Bowman, Grant, Peckham) and second with a 3:23.40 in the meet-ending 400 free relay (Peckham, Summers, Savarese, McKinney).
 
The Rangers will continue their season on Tuesday, Oct. 6 when the Blue and Gold will battle Flower Mound and Plano West at LISD Westside. Jesuit's divers will open their 2020-21 season at 4:30 p.m. before the swimming begins at 5:30 p.m.
