Week Seven Recap: The Jesuit Dallas defense locked down on MacArthur, only yielding two first downs and 44 total yards en route to securing a 34-0 win on Friday at Postell Stadium. The Rangers celebrated senior night in resounding fashion by securing their first clean sheet of the season and fourth over the last two seasons. MacArthur was held to 26 net rushing yards, 18 passing yards and were 0-for-9 on third down opportunities. 0: Jesuit Dallas scored its first shutout of the season, 34-0, over MacArthur on Friday at Postell Stadium. The win marks the fourth shutout for the Jesuit Dallas program since 2020, and the first since a 42-0 win over Richardson on Nov. 30, 2020.
2:Â The Rangers held MacArthur to only two first downs in Friday's game, one on the Cardinals' first drive before allowing the second in the second quarter. MacArthur went 0-for-4 in second half drives, going three-and-out in three occurrences and turning the ball over on downs in their first drive of the second half.
4:Â The win over MacArthur's is Jesuit's fourth straight win. The Rangers have now secured at least a four-game winning streak in six of the past seven seasons, dating back to the 2015 campaign.
7:Â Senior Hunter Krepp has scored a touchdown in seven consecutive games dating back to the Rangers' bi-district match up against Arlington last season. This year, Krepp has 31Â receptions for 624Â yards to his credit.
11:Â Jesuit Dallas has only committed 11 penalties over the last three weeks, and average only five penalties per game. By comparison, opponents have given the Rangers 63.7 yards per game this season via penalty yardage.
16:Â Over the last three weeks, Jesuit Dallas has scored in 16 of their 18 trips to the red zone. After going 4-for-4 against Pearce, the Rangers went 6-for-7 against both Lake Highlands and MacArthur. During that stretch, Jesuit has scored 14 touchdowns and two field goals.
Scouting the Vikings
Vikings Rumble Past Tigers: Eric Williams rushed for 175 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown to lead Irving Nimitz (4-2, 3-0 in District 7-6A) to a convincing win over Irving High (2-4, 1-3) at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium. J'Den Hall rushed for 144 yards, including touchdown runs of 13 and 62 yards as Nimitz rumbled for 475 yards on the ground. Pedro Maldonado passed for 82 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown to Isaac Lopez, and a 1-yard score to Isaiah Gipson. Maldonado also added 65 yards on the ground, including a 4-yard score. Ramond Perkins scored the final Nimitz touchdown on a 2-yard run, while Zykamren Bowie recorded Irving's only score, also on a 2-yard run.
Williams Leading the Charge: Nimitz running back Eric Williams has racked up 448 yards and four touchdowns on the ground during the Vikings' three district games, and enters the showdown against Jesuit averaging 18.3 carries for 162.7 yards per game. Williams recorded his best performance of the season against MacArthur, racking up 28 rushes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
Aiming for a Return to Form: The Vikings, currently 3-0 in the district, are hoping to reach the postseason for the first time since 2015 this year. That season, Nimitz went 4-3 in a district that included the remainder of Irving ISD, Jesuit, Skyline, W.T. White and R.L. Turner and lost to Highland Park in the UIL Bi-District round.

The Last Time They Met: Jesuit Dallas erupted for two touchdowns in the opening six minutes of the first quarter and scored on eight of 10 drives to secure a 56-7 win over Nimitz on Nov. 14 at Postell Stadium Senior Jake Taylor crossed the 2,000-yard mark for his career with 129 rushing yards on Friday, and was one of three Rangers to score a rushing touchdown. Senior Kyle Heckel broke of an electric, 52-yard touchdown run to score Jesuit's first points of the game for his first touchdown of the season. Senior Connor Naughton added a rushing touchdown of his own in the fourth quarter. The Ranger quarterback corps finished the contest with a 82.6 percent completion percentage, led by 243 yards and three touchdowns on 12 completions by Gage Roy. Senior Connor Naughton added a 7-of-9 clip behind center for 98 yards and two touchdowns to close the five-touchdown night for the Jesuit quarterbacks.Senior Charlie Clements caught two touchdowns, finishing Friday's bout with four receptions for 63 yards. Junior Hunter Krepp added four receptions for a team-leading 92 yards as senior Charlie Cook tacked on four catches for 57 yards. Junior Ford Butler scored his first varsity touchdown on a 60-yard reception, joining junior Cole Younger and Heckel in the receivers' scoring column. Defensively, senior Pierce Jackson led the charge with 10 tackles and a stop behind the line of scrimmage. Fellow senior Jack Judson tacked on 2.5 tackles for loss, adding to his team-leading total. Senior Ethan Tehan recorded seven stops, senior Peter Melle recorded four tackles as seniors Cooper Manning and Sy Mendenhall made two tackles apiece. Melle and senior Graham Bowers combined for Jesuit's lone sack of the game.
The Last Time at Ellis Stadium: Returning to Irving Schools Stadium for the second consecutive week, the Jesuit Dallas Rangers looked comfortable in their home away from home, jumping out to a two touchdown lead in the first quarter before cruising to their second consecutive shutout, 40-0, over Nimitz on Oct. 17, 2014. Posting back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2010, Jesuit Dallas (6-1, 4-0 UIL 9-6A) held Nimitz to 85 net yards, including only 32 passing yards. The Rangers have shut out four opponents this season; the most under the tenure of head coach Brandon Hickman, and have outscored district opponents 166-21 four games into the 9-6A campaign. Senior Peyton Long scored a pair of fumble recoveries, finishing the contest with three total tackles. Fellow senior John Michael Priddy finished the game with two solo stops and three assisted tackles, while senior Ryan Brooks led the team with two tackles for loss. The Rangers scored on all five first-half possessions, taking a decisive advantage into the second stanza and eliminating any hope for a Viking upset. Junior Jacob Palisch hurled a career-high 228 passing yards, completing 12-of-15 passes and throwing for a pair of touchdowns. In addition, senior Adam Holtz set a new career best with 150 net rushing yards, while classmate Max Loughborough, junior Evan Jackson and Palisch each scored rushing touchdowns.

Berkner 47, Richardson 28: The dynamic backfield of Omarion Barnes, 123 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Jamary Williams, 90 rushing yards and two touchdowns, lead the way as Richardson Berkner (3-4, 3-1 District 7-6A) won 47-28 against Richardson (1-5, 0-3) Thursday night at Wildcat-Ram Stadium. It was a back and forth first half until Richardson Berkner's Lemone Stewart scooped up a fumble and ran it 73 yards for the touchdown with six minutes remaining in the second quarter. Richardson quickly answered, trying to keep some momentum, but Richardson Berkner ultimately took a 26-14 lead into the half. Scoring on its first two possessions of the third quarter, Richardson Berkner separated themselves from Richardson, led by Howard Armstrong's 288 total yards and a passing touchdown, despite its continued fight and fourth-quarter scoring. Richardson Berkner's Thomas Landry had 130 passing yards and threw touchdowns to Jarvis Saine, 71 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jamaal Saine, 16 receiving yards and a touchdown. Richardson saw strong games from Kaden Alcorn, 69 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and Donovan Ford, 97 total yards and a receiving touchdown.
Lake Highlands 31, JJ Pearce 0: Lake Highland tailback Noelle Whitehead rushed for a game-high 201 yards and two touchdowns, spearheading an offense that rolled up 528 total yards in a impressive 31-0 victory over Richardson Pearce in District 7-6A action on Thursday night at Eagle-Mustang Stadium. Lake Highlands (6-1, 3-1 in 7-6A) controlled the contest from the opening snap, taking a 14-0 lead after one quarter on a 28-yard scoring run by Whitehead and a 14-yard touchdown pass by Caden Dodson to Jeremiah Richards. Dodson also had a big game in the win with 273 total yards and a score, with Richards finishing with four catches for 72 yards. Lake Highlands pushed its lead to 21-0 in the second quarter on a 67-yard touchdown run by Whitehead and took that edge into the second half. Lake Highlands then closed the game out with 10 points in the final period on a 33-yard field goal from Shallum Peter and a 1-yard scoring run by Deonte Dean. Richardson Pearce (2-5, 2-2) was led by receiver Oliver Crawford with 134 yards receiving, with running back Daiquan Landon finishing with 80 yards rushing.
Irving Nimitz 50, Irving 6: Eric Williams rushed for 175 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown to lead Irving Nimitz (4-2, 3-0 in District 7-6A) to a convincing win over Irving High (2-4, 1-3) at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium. J'Den Hall rushed for 144 yards, including touchdown runs of 13 and 62 yards as Nimitz rumbled for 475 yards on the ground. Arlington 27, Sam Houston 24: Joe Nelson made a 39-yard field goal as time expired to give Arlington a 27-24 win over Arlington Sam Houston on Friday night at Choctaw Stadium. After Sam Houston tied the game at 24-24 with 4:00 remaining, Arlington drove 77 yards to set up the winning score, reversing a 21-7 halftime deficit. Arlington (2-5,1-2 District 8-6A) running back Rodney Talton Jr. rushed for 287 yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries. Quarterback Ryley Zalusky threw for 119 yards on 9 of 21 passing. He also threw a touchdown pass. Arlington outscored Sam Houston (3-3,1-1) 20-3 in the second half. Sam Houston running back David Robinson rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Sam Houston Quarterback Justin Tone threw for 123 yards on 5 of 15 passing. He threw two touchdowns and also rushed for 33 yards on 6 carries.
Arlington Martin 47, Arlington Lamar 0: Arlington Martin (5-2, 3-0) stayed undefeated in district play with a dominant 47-0 win over Arlington Lamar (1-5, 1-1) Friday night at Cravens Field. Martin quarterback Cydd Ford led the way for the offense with 189 yards and two touchdowns. Martin also got passing touchdowns from Tristan Bittle on a halfback pass and from Trey Cochran on a wide receiver reverse pass. Receiver Zaire Barrow caught three passes for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Martin defense prevented Lamar from getting anything going offensively. Lamar totaled just 176 yards on the night. Lamar quarterback Jaden Morris went 13 of 32 passing for 115 yards. Running back Laron Hulet rushed for 29 yards on 11 carries.
Grand Prairie 34, South Grand Prairie 33: Backup quarterback Adrian Wilson came off the bench to throw a pair of second-half touchdown passes - including the game-winner to Kijon Anderson with 49 seconds left - and Grand Prairie blocked a last-second field goal attempt as GP knocked off its crosstown rival South Grand Prairie 34-33 at a near-capacity Gopher-Warrior Bowl Friday night. In defeating its archrival for the first time in over a decade, Grand Prairie (4-3, 3-0 in 8-6A) stayed unbeaten in district play and greatly increased its playoff chances. SGP fell to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in district play with the loss. The last time Grand Prairie beat South was a 25-17 victory in 2009. Grand Prairie scored on its last three possessions to come back from a 26-7 deficit. Down 33-28, GP went 57 yards in nine plays for the game-winning drive, with Wilson, who was 9-of-12 for 132 yards and two TDS in relief of starter Savion Red, finding Anderson in the corner of the end zone from 29 yards out for the winning TD.South came back and got down to the GP 21 yard line with 9 seconds left. But on a 38-yard field goal attempt, Grand Prairie's George Vitaki and Braylon Dickerson both broke through the line to get a hand on the ball and secure the win, sending the Grand Prairie crowd into a frenzy.
