Rangers Capture 60th Annual Jesuit Dallas Invitational Tournament Title

Led by a pair of solid scores from senior James Farmer and junior Oliver Naumann, the Jesuit Dallas golf team won the team title at the 60th annual Jesuit Dallas Invitational Tournament, held on Mar. 22 in Farmers Branch, Texas. 

Naumann captured the individual medal with a two-over 74 while Farmer led the Jesuit Dallas gold team with the same score, aiding Jesuit to a 308 team score that finished eight strokes ahead of second place Trinity Christian. Jesuit's blue team finished fifth overall with a 327 to complete the team's varsity division lineup. Senior Max Reimer was the second-lowest finisher on the gold team, shooting a 76 to finish the event tied for third, while junior AJ Adams carded a 78 to tie for eighth. Junior Sean Mello picked up a top-15 finish with an 80 during a cloudy day in Farmers Branch, and senior Gordon Schmerbeck capped the Jesuit lineup with an 84, placing 25th.

The blue team saw juniors Josh Estes and Michael Lohner tie for 21st place with identical rounds of 83, and classmate William Jackson wrapped up the team score with an 87 on the day. Jesuit's junior varsity team also earned a team championship, shooting a 307 team score to capture the junior varsity division by 72 strokes. Freshman Max Chan led the charge with a 73 as all five members of the team placed in the top six of the event. Junior Hayden Montpas finished third with a 77, sophomore Tate Williams added a 78 to place third, freshman Antonio Dimafelix picked up a fifth-place finish with a 79, and junior Zac Crosby finished sixth with an 83 to complete the team's stellar day on the course.

Ursuline won the girls' division with a 321 team score, narrowly defeating Hockaday by two strokes. Ranchview' Bohyun Park, a University of Texas commit who is quickly making a name for herself not only on the state but national level, won the tournament title with a 67, shooting five-under for the lowest score of the day across all three divisions.

Jesuit will continue its busy season on Tuesday as the Rangers will travel to Firewheel Golf Course in Garland, Texas for a final tune up ahead of the District 7-6A Championships. The two-day district championship tournament will start on Tuesday, Mar. 30 and conclude on Mar. 31, as the Rangers will aim to repeat their first place finish at the District Preview Tournament on Mar. 9 and secure the 11th district championship in program history.
