Jesuit Dallas saw its varsity team secure a strong finish in its first tournament of the season, as the Rangers placed 20
th at the Arlington Invitational on Saturday at the AISD Arts and Athletics Complex.
Junior
An-Jie Kryger placed in the 150-pound bracket, securing a trio of wins en route to a spot in the third-place match. Kryger fought his way out of the consolation bracket after a first-round loss with falls over Frisco Memorial and Abel Mendoza to punch his ticket to the third-place match.
Jesuit's
Spencer Broussard earned a pair of victories in the 126-pound bracket, landing a spot in the consolation semifinal. Broussard earned a 14-5 Major Decision over L.D. Bell before securing his second win of the tournament with a 7-5 decision.
The Rangers excelled in the JV division, with
Matt Dietsch capturing first place honors in the JV boys' 140-147 pound division, Jake Daboub scoring silver medalist honors at 158-162 pounds and Nicholas Westerheide adding a silver medal in the 138-139 pound division. Kingston Stephens (86-95lb), Alex Shomin (108-114lb) and Nate Salvia (133-138lb) each secured bronze medals in their respective weight classes.
