The Rangers scored one run in the first, two in the second and held firm control throughout a 9-0 Tuesday night win over Lake Highlands at Wright Field. With the victory, Jesuit picks up its first district win of the season following a stellar, all-around effort from the Blue and Gold.
Senior
Myles Tucker went 3-for-4 on the day with an RBI and two runs scored. The senior secured a single, double and triple, driving home a run with a groundout in the bottom of the first. Senior
Cash Riley and junior
Callen Singhania drove in runs on sacrifice flies, and senior
Tommy Delaney ripped a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth that plated Tucker and freshman
Jake Fults. The freshman went 2-for-4 and scored twice during the contest, while Singhania and senior
Jake Storey each tacked on doubles.
On the mound, junior
Luke Isett secured his fourth win of the season with six innings of shutout work on the mound, striking out two batters while only allowing five hits. Junior
Jack Barr threw final inning of the game for the Rangers, keeping the shutout intact by shuting out the Wildcats in the seventh.
The Rangers and Wildcats will conclude their two-game regular season series on Friday, when Jesuit travels to Lake Highlands H.S. for a 7 p.m. showdown. On Saturday, the Blue and Gold will conclude a busy week with a non-district road game against Mansfield at 1 p.m.
